About Sisu Solar
Sisu Solar is a solar installation company founded by Rickey Sipila in 2020. We specialize in residential rooftop solar photovoltaic systems. Quality is our number one priority, we will ensure that any installation will be reliable, structural, and aesthetically pleasing. We will ensure your solar PV system lasts for over 30 years. Sisu Solar is completely licensed, bonded, and insured.
Overall, we are down to earth people who care about the environment. That is why we started this company. You shouldn't expect a salesperson when you call us. All who work here are solar installers and solar construction is what our passion is. You can be ensured that the person at Sisu who is selling you a solar PV system will also be the one who will be on your roof physically installing your panels.
If you are interested in solar or want to talk about a specific solar project in mind, we are always available at 218-248-0212.
Meet The Founder
Hello I'm Rickey!
I'm a young solar professional looking to make the most of my abilities to help combat the climate crisis.
The inspiration that led to the creation of Sisu Solar stems from my involvement in solar car racing. As a long time member of the University of Minnesota Solar Vehicle Project, I have helped build and race a full-sized car that can run completely off solar power. This experience got me interested in solar power which led to me to get an internship at a local solar installation company. Now with my own solar company, I have installed dozens of solar photovoltaic systems and am looking to bring more solar to Minnesota (specifically the Iron Range, which is where I am from!)
Meet The VP
Hello! Aaron here.
I'm a solar installer and electrician here to build high quality renewable energy systems. I love having a career that not only pays the bills, but also makes a positive impact on the world. It's been quite a journey getting here.
In 2016, while working in sales for the board game industry, I started taking classes part time to learn about electricity and solar energy systems at Madison College and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association. Then, in 2019, I decided it was time to take the plunge and begin my apprenticeship as an electrician via solar installation. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but far and away the most rewarding.
I met Rickey early on and we quickly developed a great working relationship as we realized our work ethics and passions were aligned (and we both love board games!). When Rickey told me he was looking for a lead installer a year after starting his own business, I knew we'd make a great team.
